Abstract

138,805. Trier, F. N. June 18, 1919. Drawing-boards.-A drawing or sketching appliance is formed of a supporting board bearing a scaled or ruled surface and a frame adapted to stretch and clamp in position on the board a sheet of substantially transparent drawing material. The board A is supported on battens A' one of which carries a frame B having an opening corresponding in size to the board and arranged when folded over, to occupy the same plane as the board A. The face of the board either has a piece of squared paper detachably secured thereto or is formed of some such material as celluloid ruled as required. As shown, the board A has a removable millboard panel C to which one or more sheets of squared paper are attached. To stretch and clamp the transparent sheets D over the bevelled edge A<3> of the board, the edges B<1> of the frame B are bevelled and ribs B<2> provided on the frame fit into grooves A<4> in the battens A<1> when the frame is closed. Hooks E and catches E<1> hold the frame down. The board may have a sling to facilitate carrying, and also a drawer may be provided at the back of the board.
