Lantern doors and door fittings.-Relates to fastening-devices for sliding doors, members, or lids, of the kind comprising two relatively sliding parts, one part provided with a recess and the other with a spring-pressed ball or member, which is adapted, when the parts are in certain relative position, to enter the recess and lock the parts together. The part 1 is formed with beads or guides 8 for the other part 7 and has a pair of recesses 5 having a pair of balls 6 retained in position by a single plate spring 2. As shown in Fig. 4, which shows the device applied to the parts of a vehicle lamp, the walls 6 project through the part 1, and cooperate with grooves 10 on the other part, the grooves terminating in recesses 9, into which the balls are pressed by the spring when the sliding part is fully closed.
