Abstract

1386848 Parachute and seat harness J MARTIN 3 Oct 1973 [5 July 1972] 31547/ 72 Heading A3V In a combined parachute and seat harness only the shoulder strap terminal lugs 12, 13 are releasably engaged in the connector box 36 which is carried by the negative "G" strap 37. The upper part of the shoulder straps 10, 11 are attached to the parachute riser straps 3, 4 and then pass to a reeling mechanism in the seat. Leg straps 20, 21 pass up between the legs, through rings 34, 35 in the thigh straps 32, 33, and are held by the shoulder straps which are passed through the looped portions 24, 25. The harness is secured to the ejector seat by lugs 19, and 30, 31, and the negative "G" strap, these lugs being released automatically at an appropriate time after ejection.
