[Also in Group XXXIII] A corset 2 worn by the pilot of an aircraft comprises a number of interconnected vertical pockets 3 adapted to be inflated with compressed air from a source 6. The pilot is strapped to his support 1 by a plurality of straps 4 fastened to an anchor ring 5. In inflating the corset, straps 11 are also drawn up to secure the pilot's legs together preparatory to ejection into the air stream. A gudgeon pin 13 releases a buckle 12 to loosen the pilot's legs. The pockets are preferably provided with non-return valves.
