Abstract
1386460 Welding by fusion RUKOV SDRUZENY PODNIK ONV DECIN 22 Dec 1972 [12 Jan 1972] 59376/72 Heading B3R [Also in Division H5] A guide arrangement for guiding and constraining elongate elements 8, 9, to follow convergent paths comprises a stationary common first guide member 1 and a pair of second guide members 3, 3, arranged and biased for limited resilient movement towards the convergent paths, in the vicinity of the convergence point. A pair of resiliently biased third guide members 2, 2 press the elongate elements against guiding grooves in the stationary guide member. Abutments prevent movement of the second guide members towards the paths beyond the line the elongate elements should follow. The guides are preferably of corundum (electrically insulating and abrasion resistant alumina). The arrangement may control electrodes fed to an arc in a burner, furnace or torch or a metal coating or deposition apparatus to provide a more stable arc.
