Abstract

1385874 Ventilators CLEAR HOOTERS Ltd 5 July 1972 [6 July 1971] 31568/71 Heading F4V An air outlet device for mounting in a vehicle facia comprises a nozzle 5 held within the open end of a housing 1 by a retaining ring 6, the nozzle 5 having radially extending trunnions 10 at diametrically opposite positions on its partspherical outer surface which are received in an arcuate track or tracks 9 formed in the housing 1, the ring 6 or as shown, therebetween, whereby the nozzle 5 may be rotated about the longitudinal axis of the housing 1 in addition to rotational movement about the common axis of the trunnions 10. The ring 6 and housing 1 are interconnected by bayonet-type connections. The device includes a circular flap upstream of the nozzle 5 having a rack operatively connected to a bevel gear portion on a spindle 16 or, as shown, two semicircular flaps 20 having bevel gear portions 23 connected to a common bevel gear 24 on the spindle 16.
