Abstract

1384546 Printing process IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 25 April 1972 [17 May 1971 7 Sept 1971] 15273/71 and 41682/71 Heading D1B Synthetic textile materials are printed by printing with an aqueous paste comprising a disperse dyestuff, a water-soluble thickening agent and water, optionally drying the textile material, and then subjecting the textile material to a heat treatment at 150-230‹C in a press, an interlining being inserted between the printed surface of the textile material and the press. The heat treatment is preferably for 5-60 seconds and the interlinings are paper, optionally coated with a polyamide or polyvinyl acetate or laminated with a metal knitted, woven, non-woven or films of polyamides, polyesters or cellulose acetate and aluminium foil. The Examples describe printing polyester, cellulose di or triacetate or polyester : cotton (67:33) mixture, and the thickener may be a water-in-oil or oil-in-water emulsion.
