Abstract

1514798 Discharge printing HOECHST AG 5 Sept 1975 [5 Sept 1974] 36704/75 Heading D1B Irregular discharge printing effects are obtained on textile materials by applying a reducible dischargeable dyestuff and subsequently without intermediate fixation of the dyestuff applying a layer of bubbles of an aqueous sufactant containing solution of a reductive discharge agent, the solution having a viscosity in the range of 10 to 150 mPa.s. and the bubbles having a diameter of at least 10mm, allowing the bubbles to burst and after drying the material locally destroying part or all of the dischargeable dyestuff by a thermal treatment. Preferably the dye is applied by a pad-dyeing method, to materials which may be cellulosic, polyester, polyamides, cellulose 2¢- and triacetate or wool. The reducing solution may contain a dye which is resistant to reduction.
