Abstract
1379983 Low alloy steel JONES & LAUGHLIN STEEL CORP 11 Feb 1972 [11 March 1971] 6632/72 Heading C7A High strength, corrosion resistant, low alloy steels comprises:- the balance, apart from impurities, being iron. The sum of 21À5 x %P + 4À5 x % Cu + 1À2 x % Cr + 2À2 x % Si is in the range 6À2 to 7À1, to two significant figures. In processing the steel it should be hot rolled with a finishing temperature between 1700‹F and the A3 point, cooled at a rate of 25-45F‹/sec and coiled or piled at 1000‹-1200‹F.
