Abstract

1378275 Liquefied gas storage tanks BRIDGESTONE LIQUEFIED GAS CO Ltd 19 Feb 1973 [13 March 1972] 8086/73 Heading F4P [Also in Division F2] A heat-insulating wall for a liquefied gas tank is formed by blowing melted sulphur, which may include a foaming agent, at the inner surface of an outer vessel of the tank, so that the sulphur foams and solidifies to form a substantially homogeneous wall. Crack-preventing materials, e.g. glass wool, plywood or wire netting, may be included in the wall. The inner surface of the foamed layer may be coated with molten sulphur to form a solid sulphur layer. The wall may be in direct contact with the liquefied gas, or may support an inner membrane.
