Abstract
817,012. Storing liquefied gases. BRITISH OXYGEN CO. Ltd. March 25, 1957 [March 23, 1956], No. 9133/56. Class 8(2). A metal e.g. steel, liquefied gas storage container 10, 11 has an inner heat insulating lining 14 in direct contact with the gas. Suitable closed pore materials include foamed glass, expanded phenol or urea formaldehyde, expanded polyvinyl chloride and balsa wood. Suitable porous materials include expanded slag wool and rock wool preferably having an inner coating of heat insulating material e.g. bonded asbestos or glass cloth. The container is formed of hermispheres welded together at flanges 12, 13 and supported by a ring 22 and legs 23. The lower hemisphere 11 has a drain cock 16.
