Abstract

1374554 Height gauge Y NUMATA 11 May 1973 [12 May 1972] 22523/73 Heading G1M A height gauge comprises a slider 6 slidable along the vertical bars 2, 3 and a pair of counters 8, 9 driven by means of a gear 17 on the slider meshing with a rack 3' on the bar 3, each counter 8, 9 being resettable to zero by means of a respective lever 26, 27. Gear 17 drives the counters by means of gears 18-24, each counter being driven from one of the gears 23, 24 by a respective worm gear, and each counter counting in the opposite direction to the other counter for any movement of the slider. The pointer 16 of an indicating dial 7 is driven from a rack 2' on bar 2 by means of gears 10, 12, 15. An antibacklash device comprises a gear 11 meshing with rack 2' and a gear 13 coupled to gear 11 via a spiral spring and meshing with gear 15.
