A dial-indicating sliding jaw gauge for both millimetres and inches comprises two superimposed racks 3, 4, mounted in a recess in the recess in the slide bar 1 and in meshing engagement with pinions 5, 6 respectively, whereby the measured value is indicated by two pointers 9, 10 concentrically mounted in the casing and co-operating with scales marked in millimetres and inches.
