Abstract
137,363. Engelke, W. Jan. 3, 1919, No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Dating tickets &c.-Tickets and the like are dated or stamped at both ends in a machine comprising a frame 9 having a carrier 7 adapted to slide up inclined guides and provided with a ticket support through slots in which two sets of printing-type, preferably changeable wheels carrying letters and members, project slightly to mark through ink ribbons 19 extending between rolls 20 and over the support. The ticket is placed between side guides 2 and against an end stop 3 on the carrier, which is then pushed in, sliding up the inclined guides and moving in contact with supporting guide-rolls 8, whereby the ticket is moved under impression rolls 11 carried on levers 12 rocking on fulcra 13 under the action of adjustable springs 14. Towards the end of the inward movement of the carrier, a cyclometer or other counter 18 is operated by the levers 16, 17, the rollers 11 run on to a bridge-piece below which the ribbons pass, and the ribbon roll 20 is turned by ratchet gear 21 to advance the ribbons slightly. The carrier returns to its forward position under the action of gravity, which may be assisted by the spring pressure of the rolls 11.
