Abstract

137,230. Smith, H. June 4, 1919. Cheque-books; books with tear-out portions. - A cheque-book comprises a back 1 having mounted on it a pad of sheets 3 each perforated at 6, 7 to form a stub 5 and a number of cheques 4, the stubs being secured together and to the back alcng their upper edges by staples and binding 9 so that they may be turned upwards, as shown, to allow the lower studs to be filled in. A cover 2 is hinged to the back 1 by a flexible web 2a into which strips 14, detachable from the stubs by lines of perforations, may be bound; or the strips 14 may be dispensed with. The stubs have columns 10, 11 for the amounts of cheques and deposits, and may be ruled on their back surfaces 12 for memoranda.
