Abstract

1372215 Ventilating animal houses INTEGRA LICHTENVOORDE NV 19 Nov 1971 [2 Dec 1970] 53974/71 Heading F4V [Also in Division F2] A ventilating system for an animal house comprises a pump for delivering air under pressure through a duct 6 to branch distribution ducts 8 having outlets to the house and a device for successively cutting off the air supply to at least one of the ducts 8 so that air issues from each duct 8 in a pulsing manner. The device comprises a plug cock 17 rotated in a step-wise fashion by an electric motor 23. Alternatively, a plate 30 which may be adapted to close one or two ducts 8 at any time is pivotally mounted on a shaft 31 carrying a cog 32 which engages a rack 33 carried by the plate 30 and spring biased into contact with an abutment 36. As the shaft 31 is rotated, the rack is drawn away from abutment 36 until free, and the plate 30 is then rotated by the rack to the next abutment 36. The air delivery pump may serve another air distribution system in the upper part of the house and having air outlet branch ducts extending into roof outlet ducts to induce airflow from the house. Further air outlet ducts may be provided near the floor of the house, or in the roof and provided with non-return valves. The air delivered may be heated or cooled.
