Abstract

1369713 Tumble drier C H MORGANS 23 Feb 1973 [24 Feb 1972] 8704/72 Heading F4G In a direct-air tumbler-drier having atmospheric air drawn through an inlet 1, Fig, 1. the air being heated and passed through a tumbler container 3 to an exhaust outlet, a controlled amount of heated air is re-circulated. The air is heated by a heater 2, passes from the tumbler container 3 into a lint trap or filter 4, the latter communicating with a fan 5. The latter draws air through the drier and connects with a flue 6 which leads to a chimney 7. A branch connection 8 is positioned in between the flue 6 and the chimney 7 and connects to a filter nozzle 9 which is located adjacent the air inlet 1 of the drier. A valve 10 is provided to control the quantity of previously circulated air that is to be admitted with the atmospheric air. Conveniently flexible ducting 11 is used to connect the branch connection 8 to the filter nozzle 9. The heater may be powered electrically, by steam or by the combustion of oil or gas.
