Abstract

1369368 Textile treating apparatus VEPA AG 5 Sept 1972 [21 Sept 1971 16 Nov 1971 14 Feb 1972 21 Feb 1972 24 March 1972 5 May 1972] 41069/72 Heading D1L A process for the wet treatment of textile web material comprises wetting the web and folding it into a series of adjacent folds before /passing it into the long intake leg of a J-box the walls of which are liquid permeable and which is supplied with treating liquor from a bowl in which the J-box is positioned. After passing through the box, the folds are removed from the material and the latter passed through a sieve drum to wash away the treatment liquor. As shown in the Figure a J-box 2 positioned upright in liquor container 1, has intake leg 5 of the J-box made of compact metal plates whilst those of the knee of the box situated in the liquor are permeable e.g. perforated. The material 4 prior to being folded into the J-box is wetted by spray pipes 9 and/or roller 10 and plaited by unit 3. After passing through the box in a folded state the material is unfolded by roller 13, and passed between squeeze rollers 12 bfeore passing through perforated drum 18 pivoted in liquid container 17 where it is intensively washed.
