Abstract

1367209 Band clamps ETABS CAILLAU 19 Oct 1972 [19 Oct 1971] 48262/72 Heading E2B A band clamp comprises a strap 1 having at one end a series of profiles, e.g. slots 2, notches, reliefs, and at the other end a support secured thereto for rotatably mounting a screw 6. In use, the thread of the screw co-acts with the profiles to produce clamping. The support comprises two parts 4, 5 one 4 which has opposed lateral slots 8, 9 for the passage of the one end of the strap 1 and an open ended recess 11 for co-operation with the shaft 20 of the screw adjacent its head 21 is secured to the strap 1. The part 4 has a hole 12 opposed to the recess 11 for the reception of the tip 13 of the screw 6. The other part 5 of the support forms a cover for the part 4 and has in its side walls a recess 18 which, co-operates with the open ended recess 11 in the part 4 to provide a bearing for the shaft 20 of the screw 6. In the construction shown the end of the strap secured to the support is fastened by means of the slots 8, 9 a shaped part 3 being provided on the strap 1 for this purpose. The part 4 is a stamping and a seam 14 is tangential to the hole 12 and extends from a corner of the slot 9 (Fig. 2, not shown).
