Abstract

1367165 Ensilaging: containers and their mountings BP CHEMICALS INTERNATIONAL Ltd 9 Oct 1972 [15 Oct 1971] 48052/ 71 Heading A1F A container A, holding ensilaging liquid is held in a support J which is pivoted at H on a frame I attached to a chute G of a forage harvester and is emptied by inverting the container so that its mouth is lowermost in order that liquid flows down a tube E to a nozzle M as the container is vented via an air pipe F which is attached to the chute above the highest level of the container in its inverted position. The two tubes pass through a closure C which replaces the original container closure and an on-off valve N is provided to control the discharge of liquid. The free end of the air pipe F maybe connected to a chamber of an anchor device attached to the harvester (Fig. 3, not shown), which chamber is provided with vent holes. The insilaging liquid is preferably formic acid which may contain additives such as wetting agents.
