1367118 Drainage traps; drainage systems GUSTAVSBERGS FABRIKER AB 23 Sept 1971 [20 Oct 1970] 44527/71 Heading E1C A main plumbing junction for a drainage system comprises a vertical inlet pipe 1, to which a main pipe from a higher part of the system is connected and is sealed by a ring 22, a coaxial outlet pipe 2 having a widened portion 2b which receives a reduceddiameter portion of the inlet pipe 1, an annular trap formed by a channel member 6 integral with the portion 2b and an intermediate annular wall 5a in the form of a dipplate dividing the annular channel into inlet and outlet portions 4a, 4b, and one or more branch pipe stubs 8 from at least one sanitary unit communicating with the inlet portion 4a of the trap via a space 21 surrounding the inlet pipe 1 and enclosed by a cover member 17 integral with the pipe 1. Preferably, there are two oppositely directed pipe stubs and additionally a floor drain 10 consisting of a rectangular opening, formed by a part 10b, and a rectangular box incorporating a filter 13, the box being adapted to be fitted removably within the opening. The junction is preferably moulded from plastics material and is assembled by fitting a flanged lower part of the cover member 7 on to a flange 14 at the upper edge of the channel member 6. Preferably, the junction is assembled within a concrete joist 16 prior to casting by use of the steel adaptor sleeves 15, 17 shown, the outlet pipe being protected by a further steel sleeve 18. The floor drain is adapted to project through an opening in a wall 20.
