Abstract

1366169 Turbomachine rotor blades MOTOREN-UND TURBINEN-UNION MUNCHEN GmbH 14 Oct 1971 [21 Oct 1970] 47942/71 Heading FIT A turbomachine rotor wheel for the throughput of coaxial working fluid streams comprises at least one self-supporting bladed annulus 1 having a support ring 7 strengthened by fibrereinforced material 8, and a further bladed annulus 2 connected to annulus 1 by means 9, 10 permitting independent radial expansion of the annuli. Strenghtening material 8 may be wound fibres of carbon, boron or glass in a matrix of aluminium, cobalt-nickel or resin. Annuli 1, 2 may be respectively fan and turbine blades. In a modification Fig.2 (not shown) the planes of the annuli are axially offset and in further arrangements Figs.3 to 5 (not shown) an additional bladed annulus (13) may be provided. The fan blades of annulus 1 may be adjustably mounted (at 17).
