Abstract

1366069 Injectors HOULDER BROS & CO 6 Dec 1971 [7 Dec 1970] 58082/70 Heading F1E Apparatus for the removal of liquid from the bottom of closed storage containers e.g. in ships, comprises a feed tube 1 which terminates at its upper end inside a discharge tube 3. The tube 3 outside the container is provided with a valve normally kept closed. When required to remove the liquid the pressure of gas above the liquid is increased and the valve then opened. The gas in flowing up the tube 3 induces liquid flow in the feed tube 1. The tube 3 may have a Venturi constriction 5. Two or more feed tubes 1 may be provided.
