Abstract

1365555 Framework; releasable fastenings: glazing RAUFOSS AMMUNISJONSFABRIKKER AS 7 July 1971 [7 July 1970] 31927/71 Headings E1R E2A and E2B . A frame structure comprises a main frame member 1 and a cover member 11 between which members an edge of an article to be framed is disposable and at least one clamping element between and substantially concealed by the members, the or each clamping element being mounted on the main frame member and being rotatable about an axis normal to the general planes of the members between a first position in which the cover member is disengaged and the article to be framed is engageable and a second position in which both the article is engageable and the cover member is clamped. A clamping portion 9 pivots on a clip 5 supported in a groove of the main frame member 1 and has flanges 13, 14 for engaging inturned flanges 15, 16 on the cover member 11 to clamp the cover member on the frame member. The clamping portion 9 is turned by a tool inserted into a recess 12 in a stepped portion adjacent the flange 13. The frame structure may be used for hinged or fixed windows or for sound absorbing panels. As shown in Fig. 5, a vinyl sealing strip is inserted in the gap between the cover member and a window pane 8. Further sealing strips 2, 3 are inserted between the main frame member 1 another window pane 8 and the flange 16 respectively. The clip 5 and clamping portion 9 may be made of plastics material. The frame structure may have a plurality of clamping elements.
