Abstract

1365539 Forging presses SCHLOEMANN AG 22 Nov 1971 [20 Nov 1970] 54088/71 Heading B3H A forging press has a fixed cylinder 5 mounted on a fixed crosshead 1 and a stepped piston 7 which is retracted after a forging stroke by external retraction piston-cylinder units 15, 16 connected to the piston-rod 8 by a crosshead 14. The piston is guided by bushes 17, 18 and has an upper die 12 fixed thereto to act on a fixed lower die 13. A heat-reflecting cage 11 is mounted around the die. In a second similar embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the press drive is below ground and acts on the lower die (13) to move it up towards a fixed upper die (12).
