Abstract
1365184 Aerating and circulating liquids VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT BIOSINTEZA BELKOVYKH VESCHESTV 22 March 1972 13280/72 Heading B1C Apparatus for cultivating micro-organisms comprises a container 1 with a draft tube 5 and a driven rotor 13 comprising an entry portion 14 communicating with ejector tubes 4A in mixing tubes 16. Air is fed to the ejector tubes by way of inlet 7, duct 12 and the hollow interior 19 of paddles 17 the outer surfaces 18 of which guide liquid to the ejectors. There are stationary vertical baffles 22, 23 with container, and heat exchange means 10. In operation the rotor is driven so that the ejectors face the trailing direction; culture liquid is supplied at 6 and discharged by an overflow device 8, and spent gas leaves at 11.
