Abstract

1363554 Containers MAJOR BOX & WIRE WORKS Ltd 10 July 1972 [1 Feb 1972] 32168/72 Heading B8P A container comprises a tubular knock-down body portion 22, end closure panels 30 and reinforcing members 40 each having a flange 44 to engage the panel 30 and a flange 46 for engagement with turned over extension flaps 20 of the body portion 22. Weakened score lines or slits 14 on three side walls and a hinge line 33 on the fourth wall facilitate opening of the container. The flanges 46 and flaps 20 may not be continuous and may extend on some side walls of the container only. Viewing apertures may be provided in the body portion or end panels and may be covered with transparent material such as Cellophane (Registered Trade Mark), polyethylene, or polypropylene. The container may be of paper, paperboard, Cellophane, polyethylene, polypropylene, copolymers of ethylene and propylene, metal foils, or laminates of plastics materials and metal foils or paper. The reinforcing members 40 are of extruded metallic or rigid plastics material.
