Abstract

1359502 Door catches CHRYSLER UNITED KINGDOM Ltd 16 Feb 1972 [23 April 1971] 11182/71 Heading E2A A door lock mechanism has a releasable catch, means to lock the catch a manual operating member and a linkage operatively connecting the operating member to the catch for release or engagement thereof, the linkage comprising a member, connected to the operating member for movement therewith and having a lug 11 in which a rod 15 connected to the catch is slidable, the rod having an abutment thereon and resilient means acting between the abutment and the lug to resist relative member to rod movement when the operating member releases the catch, whilst permitting such relative movement if the catch is locked against movement. The lug 11 on a bracket 10 pivotally engages a lever from the operating member, the bracket 10 being movable relatively to the rod 15 connected to the door catch. To release the catch the operating member moves the bracket 10 upwardly and due to the force of a spring 17 moves the rod 15 also. If the catch is locked movement of the operating member compresses the spring 17 only.
