Abstract
1358053 Storing gases GAZ DE FRANCE 17 Sept 1971 [18 Sept 1970] 43533/71 Heading F4P Constant-volume underground gas-storage is afforded by an artificial cavity C that may be formed in salt stratum and a well with a cemented casing 10 and a heat-insulating oil or inertgas jacket 11, which is closed at its lower end by a sliding seal J, liquid, such as oil-covered brine, S for sealing purposes being supplied through a conduit 13, 15 with a plug 14 preventing the liquid rising there-above, and abrupt expansion of gas from inlet and discharge passageways 18 being obviated by a valve member 16 in an oilpressurized tube 19. "Valves" 22, 24 facilitate insertion of tools or replacement parts.
