Abstract
1357387 Steel composition SOC NOUVELLE DES ACIERIES DE POMPEY 17 Sept 1971 [17 Sept 1970] 43387/71 Heading C7A A steel comprises in weight per cent:- 0À05 - 0À70 % carbon 0À9 - 2À0 % manganese 0À04 - 0À08 % tellurium up to 0À80 % silicon up to 0À10 % sulphur up to 0À05 % phosphorus optionally up to 8% in total of one or more of chromium, molybdenum, nickel and vanadium, the balance, apart from impurities, being iron and the weight ratio of manganese to tellurium exceeding 15. The steel is produced by a conventional melting procedure and the product has improved machinability and can be worked easier than corresponding steels containing no telluruim.
