Abstract

1356888 Creaming biscuits TENCHI KIKAI KK 8 July 1972 32072/72 Heading A2A Apparatus for applying a layer of cream to biscuits &c a comprises fixed guide means 4 along which the biscuits are conveyed from a stack 3, a rotary hollow cylinder 5 with apertures 10 which correspond in spacing to the spacing of the biscuits on the guide means, and means 12 to which cream is supplied under pressure in slidable contact with the inner surface of the cylinder for feeding cream to the apertures 10. As shown, the guide means 4 comprises three pairs of wires for guiding three lines of biscuits which are transported by pushers 2 on bars 2a mounted on endless chains 1a. The biscuits are pressed against the surface of the cylinder 5 by spring- loaded arms 17 pivotally mounted at 18. Cream forced by a screw conveyer in a hopper (not shown) into the means 12 passes through holes 12b into the apertures 10 for deposition on the biscuits, and the amount of cream deposited is controlled by a sleeve 13 of which angular adjustment varies the degree of registration between holes 13b and 12b.
