1356669 Door hinges PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 13 Sept 1971 [16 Sept 1970] 42488/71 Heading E2F Door furniture, used for securing a member such as a hinge 26 or catch 15 to a door 1, comprises two cooperating parts 2, 3 one of which has a cavity 8, Fig. 4e, for receiving a projection 5 on the door. The latter is preferably of synthetic resin material or moulded glass for use on a washing machine or spin dryer and has diametrically opposite recesses over which the parts 2, 3 are clamped by screws. Part 2 is a pressure die casting of zinc alloy with ribs, recesses and bearing pads Fig. 4a (not shown) on its side facing the door; its external surface may be chemically treated or have a metal deposit for preventing corrosion or improving its appearance. Part 3 is pressed from sheet metal and may be zinc or cadmium plated. Part 2 has a finger grip 10 to facilitate opening the door. Catch 15 co-operates with a safety lock 25. A circular joint 24 seals against the door.
