Abstract

1355617 Hinges CORNISH SIGN & MFG CO Ltd 15 March 1973 [19 April 1972] 18009/72 Heading E2F A hinge device comprises a U-shaped member 8 having one arm 9 extended to provide a hinge pin portion 9a, a mounting bracket 16 which engages another arm 10 in a way that allows longitudinal movement, and a biassing means 13 which urges portion 9a outwardly. In the embodiment shown a spring 13 acts between the bracket 16 and a stop 14 and the device is mounted on a door panel 4, with portion 9a biassed to engage aligned holes 11, 12 in door panel and frame respectively. A hinge axis H-H is defined in conjunction with a similar device (not shown) at the other end of the panel and by pulling the cross member 8 of each device, each hinge pin portion 9a can be retracted to allow the door panel to be removed from the frame.
