1355420 Shell roofs W J SILBERKUHL 27 May 197,1 [2 June 1970 6 June 1970 9 Dec 1970] 17444/71 Heading E1W A corrugated roof is made up of elongated doubly curved elements I which have flat end portions 2 for securing to supports and are of width #/2 or # where # is the wavelength of the corrugations, the amplitude of the corrugations being a maximum at the mid-line A and decreasing to zero at each end. The elements are preferably 5 times the wavelength in length and made of reinforced concrete or asbestos cement, but they may be plastics. The roof structure is reinforced by wire mesh and tie bars. An element may be made of two halves joined together at 8. The elements may be framed by rolled steel bars for attaching to supports.
