Abstract

1354966 Furniture joints J. LAHET 28 June 1971 [26 June 1970] 30119/71 Heading F2M Two tubular sections P, P<SP>1</SP> are joined at right angles by two coupling units R, R<SP>1</SP>, each coupling unit comprising four external lateral walls M2, M<SP>1</SP>2, M3, M<SP>1</SP>3, and an internal cross having three mutually perpendicular intersecting threaded bores 1, 2, 3. Unit R is placed in the upper end of section P so that its bore 2 is aligned with an aperture P1 in the section, unit R<SP>1</SP> is placed against section P so that its bore 1 is aligned with aperture P1, and a screw V is inserted through bore 1 and aperture P1 and threaded into bore 2. Coupling unit R<SP>1</SP> is then placed in the end of section P<SP>1</SP> so that its bore 3 is aligned with an aperture P1<SP>1</SP> in the section, and a screw v is inserted through aperture P1<SP>1</SP> and threaded into bore 3. Both ends of bores 2, 3 and at least one end of bore 1 are countersunk, and bore 1 has a larger diameter than bores 2, 3. The axial bore 1 may have an extension S for the screw of a jack (W, Fig. 6, not shown) for forming a foot.
