Abstract
1354387 Core constructions SOC D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHES MAGNETIQUES 18 Nov 1971 [18 Nov 1970] 57683/71 Heading H2A [Also in Division H1] A permanent magnet comprises (Fig. 1) a flexible support 1 of steel, aluminium, brass, or of similarly flexible non-magnetic material; coated with adhesive 2 whereby, e.g. ferrite magnetic bars 3, 4, 5 &c. are affixed. The bars may be cut from the solid before or after affixing, and are subsequently permanently magnetized perpendicularly to the support. A motor stator magnet may comprise two opposite sets of radially permanently magnetized ferrite bars adhesively secured to corresponding flexible steel sheets serving as polepieces, and mounted inside a circular yoke (Fig. 2, not shown). Strontium ferrite is mentioned. The bars may be adhesively secured to a paper support which is bent to shape and block moulded with epoxy resin; the paper being reversed and the block fitted to a polepiece. Plural such ferrite magnets may be adhesively fixed to a non-magnetic support, e.g. paper with the exposed poles in alternate polarities in groups of, e.g. three (Fig. 3, not shown), and the device is stated applicable to magnetic attraction or to a magnetic clutch.
