Abstract

1351318 Grease BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 16 Nov 1972 [29 Nov 1971] 55306/71 Heading C5F A grease composition comprises a mineral or synthetic lubricating oil or blend thereof thickened by a mixture of polyethylene and atactic polypropylene of melt index above 20. The polyethylene has a density greater than 0À94 g./cc. and a M.W. of 20,000 to 500,000. The polypropylene has a M.W. of below 100,000, and is present in the grease with respect to the polyethylene in the weight ratio 1 : 1 to 10 : 1, the total weight of polymers in the grease being 1 to 20%.
