Abstract

1349691 Connecting rods USTAV PRO VYZKUM MOTOROVYCH VOZIDEL 11 Jan 1972 [13 Jan 1971] 1263/72 Heading F2T A connecting rod shank and each bearing end is integrally formed from a bundle or bundles of steel sheet strips, the strips at the bearing ends having a cylindrical or part cylindrical form. The bundles may be fastened together by bolts, rivets, welds or clips. In Fig. 1, two bundles of steel strips are fastened together by bolts 3-6 and in Fig. 10 the end cap 15 is made from a continuous strip which is fastened to the rod by a bent over portion 18 and a bolt 17, the main body 16 being made from a continuous strip fastened together by a clip 7 which, if desired, may be integral with the outer layer of the bundle.
