Abstract

1348802 Stackable and nestable containers A W HOWE 13 May 1971 [14 May 1970] 14779/71 Heading B8P A nestable container rotatable through 90 degrees for stacking comprises side wall projections 4 defining stacking shoulders 8. The projections 4 may extend to the bottom 1 of the container or be stopped short (Figs. 5-8) to enable the container to be guided by roller and rail conveyers. The bottom of each projection 4 may merge with its wall (Figs. 7, 8) or join its wall via a shoulder (19, Figs. 5, 6) providing a fork-lift support, the walls (2a-2d, Figs. 5, 6) being inwardly stepped in the plane of the support. The sides 9 of the projections lie at right angles to the respective wall. Handle and ventilation slots 12 may be provided in all four walls 2a-2d. Each slot 12 has a moulded strip 13 whose ends 15 prevent jamming of the nested containers. The container which is suitable for meat is injection moulded.
