Abstract
1348328 Drying of cars SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN AB 27 Sept 1971 [13 Oct 1970] 44955/71 Heading F4G In a device 1, for drying a car chassis 2, e.g. after washing and before undersealing, air is blown by a fan 4 from a heater 5 into extensible flexible ducts 6, 7, and out through orifices 8 to the underpart of the chassis, from where it may be recirculated. In use, the channels 6, 7 are placed around th perimeter of the car chassis and form, with the fan, the floor on which the device stands and the bottom of the car, an enclosed drying area. The seal between the car and the floor is maintained by expansion of the channels under air pressure. The device, which is portable, with the channels supported on the fan assembly, could be fitted with a damper 9 to regulate the air temperature, and with a grille over the heater 5. The channel may be made of reinforced plastics material.
