Abstract

1347947 Toothed gearing OMP OFFICINE MECCANOPLASTICHE DI PRECISIONE SpA 25 Feb 1972 [27 Feb 1971] 8866/72 Addition to 1305656 Heading F2Q [Also in Division H1] An arrangement for the intermittent driving of a wheel 10 having two, axially spaced, rings of teeth, comprises two nibs 23 and 24 on an axial pin 22 of a driving wheel 17, one nib engaging both sets of teeth and being longer in the axial direction than the other nib which only engages one set of teeth. In the condition shown the wheel 10 is held stationary by two ribs midway along a lever 50, pivoted at 51 and biased (towards wheel 10) by a spring 52. The opposite side of the driving wheel 17, as shown in Fig. 4, has two studs 56 and 57 engaged by a catch 53 at the end of lever 50, so that the rotation of the wheel 17 causes the lever 50 to be pivoted away from a stop 58 to disengage the ribs from the wheel 10 and allow a nib, 23 or 24, to rotate the wheel 10 by one tooth, the wheel 10 being held still by the ribs again after the catch 53 has passed over the stud 56. A spring 19 co-operates with cam lobes on wheel 17 as shown in Fig. 4, to control its movement. The arrangement is for use in generating pulses of different durations in a timing programmer for such as linen washing machines and dish washing machines.
