Abstract

1358238 Ratchet clutches INDUSTRIE A ZANUSSI SpA 24 May 1972 [28 May 1971] 24506/72 Heading F2C A control knob 7 (for programme-timers of washing machines) comprises pawl teeth 6 engageable by a pawl 5 when the knob 7 is in the position shown, the knob being rotatable on (but axially fixed relative to) a shaft 3 on which an index member 4 is splined, the shaft 3 being axially movable relative to the member 4. In the position shown rotation of the knob in one direction only, rotates shaft 3 and member 4 (relative to its support 2), movement of knob 7 to the left (along with shaft 3) disengaging the one-way clutch 5, 6 for both directions of rotation. A spring rod 9 (which may be of plastics material) biases the pawl 5 towards the knob 7.
