Abstract

1347529 Electrography MOORE BUSINESS FORMS Inc 19 April 1971 [4 March 1970] 25566/71 Heading G2H A pressure pattern is applied simultaneously by an electric typewriter to a plurality of superimposed paper sheets each having a high surface resistivity coating of at least 10<SP>12</SP> ohm/sq cm (at 50% relative humidity) on one surface and a low surface resistivity coating of 10<SP>3-8</SP>ohm/sq cm (at 50% relative humidity) on the opposite surface whereafter the pattern (which has a negative polarity) is developed by application of electrostatic developer in the form of a liquid suspension. The high surface resistivity coating may be of short oil alkyd, epoxy, polyurethane or polyvinylbutyral resin or synthetic rubber and may be applied at a coating weight of 1-10 gm/sq m. The low resistivity coating may be of vinylbenzyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, a polyelectrolyte resin, or a mixture of ethyl cellulose and calcium chloride.
