1,266,997. Electrostatic printing apparatus. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 21 Oct., 1970 [24 Nov., 1969], No. 49918/70. Heading B6C. An electrophotographic copying machine comprises a photoconductive member 12 on which an electrostatic image is formed and developed by application of toner and a transfer corona unit 35 which charges a paper web or sheet 33 to a polarity opposite to that of the toner particles and also charges an auxiliary grid or flap 86 to the same polarity as the paper, so that the paper is pressed against the member 12 by electrostatic repulsion and transfer of toner to the paper is enhanced.
