Abstract

1346709 Cylinder locks HUWIL-WERKE GmbH 28 Nov 1972 [9 Dec 1971] 54942/72 Heading E2A A cylinder lock comprises a locking bolt, an inner key-operable cylinder 6, a locking cylinder 5 an outer cylinder 2a and an intermediate cylinder 7 disposed between the cylinders 2a and 5 and having an inclined guideway 11 in which a pin 12 on the cylinder 6 engages so that the cylinder 7 is displaceable axially on rotation of the cylinder 6; the cylinder 7 is secured as by a key 9 and keyway 8, against rotation relative to the cylinder 2a but is axially slidable relative thereto. The locking bolt is actuated by axial movement of the cylinder 7. As shown, the pin 12 extends through the guideway 11 into a radially extending cut-out in the cylinder 2a, and the cylinder may serve directly as a locking bolt or have a locking bolt attached thereto. A tumbler 14 engages either a groove 16 or 16a of the cylinder depending on the angular position of the cylinder 6.
