Abstract

1444798 Hydraulic actuators MANNESMANN AG 6 Dec 1973 [6 Dec 1972] 56712/73 Heading F1D Rotation of a shaft 10, Fig. 1, is produced, . when a piston 2 reciprocates in a cylinder 1, by a series of balls 9, Fig. 2, housed in recesses 12 in sleeves 5, 7, which engage a helical groove 11 in the shaft 10. The sleeves are housed in a cylindrical member 4 which is fixed to the piston 2 by a pin 17. The sleeve 5 is pinned to the member 4 at 6 and the sleeve 7 has a thread 13 which engages a thread 14. A locking pin 8 is provided. Rotation of the shaft 10 indicates the position of the piston.. The rotation may be measured and/or recorded.
