Abstract

1346215 Installing conductors H K PRICHARD 20 Sept 1972 [24 Sept 1971] 44549/71 Heading H2C A tool which can be clamped relative to an insulator 21 and holds a conductor 50 out of engagement with insulator 21 during erection comprises a body part 11, 13, 14 carrying pivotally mounted arms 30, 31, cable guides, e.g. rollers 35 mounted on the arms and means, e.g. a threaded rod 39 to adjust the spacing of the arms and thus the cable guides 35 whereby the conductor can be moved towards or away from a groove 24 on insulator 21. By holding the conductor out of engagement with the insulator during erection the possibility of the insulator being broken is reduced. The tool is clamped to a support 20 for the insulator by bolts and a plate 17. Auxiliary guide rollers 45 prevent the conductor moving downwardly on rollers 35. (For Figure see next column.)
