Abstract

948,327. Wells. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. July 6, 1961 [July 8, 1960], No. 24540/61. Heading E1F. Apparatus for guiding drilling, completing or servicing equipment to a sub-aqueous well comprises a wellhead support frame 12, open tapped guide tubes 20 having slots 22 and fixed to the frame, a guide cable 23 positioned within each tube and extending upwardly, and cones 27, 28, 29 sliding on the cables and carried by arms 24, 25, 26 projecting from equipment 14, 15, 16. The cones are mounted on plates 31, 32, 33 adapted to engage the slots and mounted for rotation about the arcs of the arms. The equipment 14, 15 may be connected by bracing 41 and lowered together on to the casing head 13. Specification 948,322 is referred to.
