Abstract

1345517 Hydraulic jet propulsion unit NORRIS AUTO PRODUCTS Ltd 19 April 1971 [6 Feb 1970] 5875/70 Heading B7V The impeller 15 of a hydraulic jet propulsion unit is mounted for rotation in the duct region which encircles it so that it is borne at its periphery 15A solely by the wall 1A. Drive shaft 12 is connected at end 11 to the impeller and at its other end to a water-seal, journal bearing and thrust bearing generally indicated at 14. A nozzle 9 is attached to the outlet of the duct. The duct and the nozzle or the duct and the hull of a marine craft may be combined respectively as a one-piece moulding of plastics material.
