Abstract

1345020 Reeling MORGAN CONSTRUCTION CO 7 July 1971 [9 July 1970] 31838/71 Heading B3C [Also in Division B8] A coil holder 18, mounted on a carriage 14, is pivotally attached to an arm 30 so that lateral movement of the carriage from a position A to a position B simultaneously produces an increase in the inclination of the holder. In operation a coil of wire is placed in the holder at position A with the holder being supported by an adjustable stop 48. A piston and cylinder assembly 38 is then activated to traverse the carriage 14 along rails 12a, 12b to the position B. Simultaneously the resulting pivotal movement of the arm 30 about a pivot 34 imparts a tipping action to the holder such that the rate of inclination is initially rapid but decreases as the holder nears position B. At the position B the coil is picked up by a hook 50 and moved along path P.
